
OFX, formerly known as OzForex, is
an Australian online foreign exchange and payment firm headquartered in Sydney.
The company provides money transfer services to Travelex, MoneyGram, Xero, ING
Direct and Macquarie International Money Transfers as well as to individuals
such as migrants and expatriates as well as small businesses.
Matthew Gilmour began OzForex in 1998, while working at Bankers Trust as the head of foreign exchange. In 2007, the company's controlling interest was sold to Australian investment bank Macquarie Group and in 2010, partial interest to other investors. It owned a number of different territory-specific brands including UKForex, CanadianForex, NZForex, USForex, ClearFX and Tranzfers before beginning a brand restructuring to OFX in 2015.
